Who is responsible

This site, bureaucultural.com, is operated by Federico Curutchet, under the BUREAU brand, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

What data is collected

If you only browse the site, we don’t ask for any personal data. The site does not use its own cookies, analytics tools or advertising.

If you use “Request a meeting”, the following is collected:

• your name, your email address and your message;
• the day and time you chose;
• the language you were using the site in.

In addition, to limit how many requests can be sent from the same connection, the site derives a fingerprint (a hash) from your IP address and stores it with a counter. That record expires after 15 minutes. We don’t store the original IP address for this purpose. The fingerprint does not guarantee anonymity.

This is separate from the technical processing done by Vercel, the provider that hosts the site: to deliver any page, Vercel receives your original IP address and other technical connection data (for example, the browser you use). Vercel handles them under its own configuration and policies.

Storage in your browser

Some demo sections of the site store preferences and sample content in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). That data stays on your device only, is not sent to our servers, and you can clear it from your browser settings.

How it is used

The request data is used to handle your meeting request: to review it, accept or decline it, create the meeting if it is accepted, and email you the outcome. If Federico adds a comment when accepting or declining, that comment is stored with the request and included in the email you receive. Your data is not used for advertising and is not sold.

Providers involved

• Vercel hosts the site and processes the requests your browser makes.
• Upstash stores the record of your request and its status (pending, accepted or declined) while it is handled.
• SiteGround is the mail server for bureaucultural.com. It sends Federico the email with your request and sends you the email with the reply. Those emails remain in the bureaucultural.com mailbox.
• Google Calendar and Google Meet: if the meeting is accepted, an event is created in Federico’s Google Calendar. The event includes your name in the title, your message in the description and your email as a guest. Google emails you the invitation and generates the Google Meet link.
• Calendly is used only to check Federico’s available times. Your data is not sent to it.
• Adobe Fonts serves the site’s typefaces. Your browser connects to Adobe when pages load.

Some images in the Readings section are loaded directly from their source websites. Your browser connects to those sites to display them.

Each provider handles the data it receives under its own policies. Some may process it outside Argentina.

Use of Google Calendar

The Google connection belongs only to Federico’s calendar. You are not asked to connect your Google account.

Through that connection, the site:

• checks whether Federico’s calendar is free at the requested time;
• creates the accepted meeting, with Google Meet;
• reads back the events the site itself created, to confirm their status.

The site does not read the content of other events in the calendar. Stored with the request are the identifier the site assigns to the event, the event link, the Google Meet link, and the status of the event, of Meet and of the invitation. The event, in turn, carries the request’s internal identifier as private data, which the site uses to find it.

How long it is kept

• Request record in Upstash: expires automatically 30 days after the meeting time. That expiry does not delete the emails or the calendar event.
• Fingerprint derived from the IP address: expires after 15 minutes.
• Emails in the bureaucultural.com mailbox: no automatic deletion is configured. They are kept until deleted manually.
• Event in Federico’s Google Calendar: no automatic deletion is configured. It is kept until deleted manually.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by writing to federico@bureaucultural.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its update date.
